Mind Viruses
What follows is a list of mind viruses people often pollute their minds with I’d like to expose as pure non-sense:
- You need to work hard for money
- Don’t marry him/her, s/he just wants you for your money
- All business opportunities / make money products/services are scams
- Who do you think you are to expect X?
- You can’t do nothing / not have a job and make money
- You need a part-time job until you make it
- If you don’t marry young you’ll die lonely / the best guys/girls will be taken and you’ll be left on the shelf
- I didn’t have it easy as a kid so why should you?
- I suffered to make my money therefore you need to suffer to make your money
- I never had any ‘handouts’ therefore you won’t get any of my mountain of money
- Rich people are scum
- Money is the root of all evil
- Money won’t make you happy
- S/he must have ripped off a lot of people to make it
- I’m too old to make it now / haven’t got the energy at my age
- If you haven’t made it by 40 you won’t make it at all
- Who are you to think you can become a millionaire in a year
- You need to use people / cheat them to get money
- You need to ‘work your way up’ to make more money
- I won’t pay X for it therefore everyone else won’t pay X for it
- Don’t spend X on your clothes, they’re not worth it
- Who are you to think you can make X amount of money?
- Don’t pay X for that product/service, it’s not worth it
- You’ve had it easy (as if to say: you should have it hard)
- My parents never gave me any money, therefore, as your parent I will never give you any money
- You need to get a ‘save, save, save’ mentality and forget ‘make, make, make’
- Making money’s bad
- You don’t want a girlfriend/boyfriend too good looking as they might be approached a lot by the opposite sex, give in to temptation and ‘cheat’ on you
- You need good grades to make it in life
- You need to meet people to make it
- You can’t make money telling the truth
Please note: I update this list from time to time so be sure to check back soon for more ridiculous, poisonous – somewhat hilarious – life-limiting mind viruses.
